Greetings humble citizens!
My name is Christopher F Fiore
Education
I
received a BFA from the University of Michigan's School of Art and Design in 2010. I am
currently attending GVSU pursuing a teaching degree for art education
with an emphasis in print making.
Artistic Interests
I
am an illustrator and fan of graphic novels. Something about combining
illustration and creative writing into a single art form fascinates me.
My
favorite artist is Salvador Dali because of his uniqueness as an artist
and a human being. The man was everything but ordinary. I enjoy
Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening most out of his work.
A Short Philosophy on Art Education
As
children develop intellectually so too does their ability and desire to
create
items pertaining to an artistic endeavor.
Children move through various stages of artistic development as they
age, growing to understand tools and symbols that can be combined and
used to
create works of art. Out of these stages
of development many lose interest in artistic endeavors during their
preadolescent
ages due to the false understanding that their art is not “good” by
technical
standings. At this point in their art
education they must be introduced to more complex concepts of “good” art
and
learn a way in which they can question art itself and learn what must be
done
for their own work. Through the utilization of popular culture and
advancing technology art
educators can learn how to prevent the end of a child's artistic career
caused by their own self-imposed views of abject failure.
